Postpartum Midwifery Support

Want the loving, compassionate, well-parent and well-baby postpartum care that midwives offer but not interested in a home birth? There is a service for you!

At Northern Glow Midwifery I believe that all birthing people should be granted access to comprehensive, personalized postpartum care, regardless of where they choose to give birth. My home-based postpartum care package is designed for those attending prenatals and birthing in the hospital but who desire postpartum care tailored to the unique needs of the postpartum family. 

The postpartum period is a special time of healing and growth. As a midwife I do my best to assist families in protecting this sacred space. During our visits we spend time honoring both the parent and child as individuals, and as a dyad. This service is reserved for the well-baby and not for babies with medical needs requiring close follow-up with pediatrician.

Postpartum Support package $1200

Includes in-home postpartum care with a Licensed Midwife:

• 5 postpartum in-home appointments in the first 6 weeks after in-hospital delivery, each appointment lasting 1-2 hours

• breastfeeding support

• infant weight checks

• well-baby checks, including communication with your pediatrician if concerns arise

• well-parent check, monitoring blood pressure, bleeding, and emotional support

• education including how to handle crying, sleeping, and self care

• Referrals to great resources in the area, if needed

• 24/7 on call phone support

• Prenatal baby care and breastfeeding class, if desired
